I know, I know. Update. I've just been nervously planning my trip to Kyoto and being busy with school (and making a anime T-shirt for my aunt which I will post as one of the pics). This weekend, I promise. 2 new pics. Maybe 3. I'll try and squeeze 3.

Small steps to former Glory....

I've been trying this new thing. It's rather difficult actually. The head at the angle thing while keeping the eyes somewhat peripheral to each other. The results have been disasterous. Still I don't think this one is too bad. The original picture was supposed to be more of a steeper head angle but it didn't work out. I'm working on a Love Hina one with Naru in a school uniform. Head angles and eyes suck to do. Also I don't know when it became a problem but it takes a lot of focus for me to get strands of hair right.But I imagine since I even have remote skill to draw this, a few more sketches and I should be up to speed. Normally when I'm rusty at something I know I've done extremely well in the past with it takes me a couple of weeks of training to get it back to what it was. I've been fortunate in it so far. At least I'm getting better at details if nothing else. Oh this is Miharu from Girls Bravo. This picture stood out for me while reading the manga. I really drew it for a friend but I don't think it's worthy to even give her. My hand is so shaky and one of the downfalls of being a left-handed artist is that your hand drags against everything you write (try it) so you smudge a lot. Another thing I learned as a result of this is that if I have to erase it's best to do it with some kind of brush to remove the eraser crud because using your hand makes things smudge 10x worse. I just use a thick paint brush. I will touch this up a little more. It'll especially look better once I get that Copic set and color it but for now this is good. Click on the pictures for a better view. You have to remember this is a scan. It actually does it even less justice. I'll see if I can improve upon that. If anybody knows how please email me. This is one of my favorites that I plan to redo to make it even better. Obviously everything body-wise looks a little out of proportion here. Why post it? The face. The details on this face are some of the best I have ever done. You probably won't be able to tell from here but the hair, eyes, and facial hair have extraordinary detail. This is an original character I drew for a villian design that is supposed to be Chinese. He has wolf powers thus the pointy ears and bushy hair (). I don't know why I threw in that earring but it looks awesome. The shading was an inspiration from my Metal Gear Solid days when I most admired Yuri Shinkawa though I have a long way to go in terms of his skill cuz this doesn't come near close. I have yet to put this character in some sort of story. Still the shading and the facial features have yet to be topped in my sketchbook. I seem really pessimisitic, don't I? At least that's what my brother tells me. I guess you have to be an artist to understand why we're so anal about our works. That's all for today. This scanning is infuriating with the cropping and color adjusting. But it is nicer than most. Anyway, I may put one or two more up tonight depending on what my plans are for later and how long they'll take. Enjoy.

TaDa! Welcome. Um more later I guess. Trying to get a feel for how to do this using skins (it's my first time). Thanks for comin'. I have a few pencil sketches I'll scan in today and will put up here tomorrow. I'm still tinkering around with software and features on this new scanner I purchased yesterday. Also you'll have to be patient with me. Since I'm waiting to receive a certain art marker set (not cheap even on eBay ^^;) my drawings are not exactly phenomonal. Most are pencil scribbled. Thus I tried to make up for it by using a really nice skin layout. I would love to do more color especially since I have the time on my hands these days. I lost my credit card (sigh) so until I get a replacement card cuz I'm too poor cash-wise to buy this right out on my own. That and I still need a job. I'll try to have this thing up and running by tomorrow with at least a couple of works.

To all of you who I directed here from my old site and don't know what's going on I'm using this site to post my art. I'm trying to get back into drawing anime and I wanted to use a separate site to get that feel to it. So don't panic. My other site is still for journaling. I will continue to talk about you while using obvious subtle analogies, hints, and occasional mixed up names. Like Nayr and LeKy, etc. This is for my anime/manga rants and my artwork.

On another note, I'm currently reading Girls Bravo, a new manga my brother introduced me to. It's absolutely hilarious. Think Love Hina meets Sailormoon kinda thing.

Basically, this boy named Yukinari Sasaki is a high school kid who has aa bad case of female phobia because he's short and is constantly being picked on by girls. He actually breaks out in hives if touched by one. Then he ends up in some alternate world where the population is mostly girls (10% are males) and meets a girl named Miharu who is the only girl who doesn't give them hives. Anyway, other people end up mixed in this plot and every guy is after Miharu who is only concerned about her next meal and will eat anything. She causes a lot of trouble for the poor guy. That and now the most popular guy in school(who hates Yukinari) Fukuyama's sister Risa is trying to cut Miharu outta the picture cuz some fortune-teller has convinced her Yukinari is her future husband. Of course Yukinari gets hives everytime she touches him. Anyway, it's quite good.

Last week, I went to this new store in our mall called HotTopic. They have really cool anime shirts there. I got one that said I love Anime [otaku] on it. It's now my anime favorite shirt next to my Sailormoon one (my first anime shirt). I'm also excited. I finally collected the whole series of Love Hina! All 14 friggin' books and it hardly costed me a penny (certain people know why) I'm so hungry right now. I need to grab some Chinese food right now and watch the rest of this Negima! Anime. I'm also going to watch a bit of DearS. Wow, I'm really gettin' into this! Sw33t! That's all for now. Ja!
